About Me

https://my.typo3.org/u/ischmittis

My name is Ingo Schmitt (born 1974), I'm living with my family in Neukirchen-Vluyn, Germany (near the Dutch border). I'm managing partner at Marketing Factory, Düsseldorf, Germany. As a developer I've been working with TYPO3 since 2003. During the last 35 years I have voluntarily spent quite a lot of spare time in non-profit organizations ("eingetragene Vereine" in Germany). I can bring into the BCC my knowledge of organizing and controlling projects in non-profit organizations, my experience in managing, and my understanding of the differences in bookkeeping for companies and non-profit organizations.

I'm also one of the organizers of TYPO3Camp RheinRuhr, which gives me additional insight into the practical needs and dynamics of our community on a local and regional level.
I've been a member of the BCC since 2011 and would like to continue the work.
Besides TYPO3, I enjoy sailing in the summer and ice hockey in the winter.

My motivation

Over the years the combined budgets of the TYPO3 Association and the GmbH have grown substantially, and both organizations continually adjust their processes to meet business and community needs. I want to support finding the best processes that balance these needs with transparency and member trust.

In addition, I'm committed to strengthening the Community Ideas process, where TYPO3 Association members can submit ideas and vote on which projects receive funding. In the next working period, I would like to:

  • increase participation, both in the number of submitted ideas and in member voting
  • explore ways to add additional funding to Community Ideas, so more promising concepts can be supported continue working with a stable BCC team on budgets, controls, and transparent processes that benefit the entire TYPO3 community
