I'm Thomas, the CTO of DFAU GmbH, the creators of toujou. My journey with TYPO3 started back in 2004, while I was still in school. In 2008, I attended my first Developer Days and was immediately captivated by the community. I was so enthusiastic that I even hosted the Developer Days twice in my hometown of Nuremberg, in 2015 and 2016. Before I joined the TYPO3 Core Team, a role I had to step away from in 2018 due to changing personal priorities.
In 2023, I was elected to the board of the TYPO3 Association and also joined the newly formed product strategy group, where we're working to prepare TYPO3 for now and the next decades.
Since the beginning, I've been a technology evangelist, both within the TYPO3 community and at my company, advocating for out-of-the-box solutions and first-principles thinking.
My motivation for serving on the TYPO3 Association board for the past two years, and for seeking re-election, stems from a deep commitment to the project's continued success and relevance. My nearly 20 years of experience in web technology, architecture, systems thinking, and running a TYPO3-based agency for 16 years have provided me with a unique perspective that I believe has been valuable to the board's work in rethinking the vision, mission, and purpose of TYPO3.
Throughout my involvement with the TYPO3 community, I've been a passionate advocate for decisive action and efficient progress, a trait I've demonstrated in countless talks, meetings, and sprints with CMS leadership. As a board member, I've brought these qualities to the table, acting as a bridge between product development and association strategy. During my tenure, I've had the opportunity to influence product strategy and have also worked behind the scenes to establish a new digital workplace for the association and its contributors.
I'm proud of the progress we've made, but I'm eager to continue this important work. I believe my experience and dedication can further contribute to TYPO3's ongoing success and ensure its continued relevance in the ever-evolving digital landscape. I am committed to working collaboratively with the board and the community to achieve these goals.
